About the Book Series

What's the difference between Book 1 and Book 2?

Book 1 is the educational foundation that teaches you the methodology and science, with 240+ strategic cross-references to recipes in Book 2. Book 2 (Companion Cookbook) contains all the actual recipes referenced in Book 1's educational content. Together, they create a complete learning and implementation system.

Which book should I start with?

Start with Book 3: Frozen Fuel for essential crisis protocols, then Book 1 for foundation methodology, then Book 2 for daily meal implementation, then Book 8: Sweet Healing for therapeutic desserts and social integration.

How many books are in the complete series?

The complete BREAK THE CHAINS™ ecosystem includes 14 resources: 1 educational foundation + 7 recipe collections (364+ tested recipes) + 5 strategy guides + the Academy platform with 110+ videos and 26+ hours of comprehensive education.

Are these recipes actually tested during chronic illness flares?

Yes! Every single recipe has been tested during actual fibromyalgia flares and chronic illness episodes. This isn't theoretical nutrition - it's practical healing that works when you're actually struggling, not just on your good days.

When will all the books be available?

Book 3: Frozen Fuel is launching in the next 2 weeks. Books 1-2 and 4-13 are content complete and in development for publication. We're taking the time to ensure each book meets the same high standards of usefulness and accessibility that chronic illness warriors deserve.

About Chronic Illness & Spoon Theory

What is spoon theory and how do you use it?

Spoon theory, created by Christine Miserandino, uses spoons as a metaphor for limited energy in chronic illness. Each activity "costs" spoons, and once you're out, you're done for the day.

We integrate spoon theory throughout our resources with:

  • Spoon ratings for every recipe (1-5 spoons based on energy required)
  • Crisis alternatives for zero-spoon days
  • Batch cooking strategies to save spoons
  • Emergency protocols when thinking is impossible
Do these protocols work for conditions other than fibromyalgia?

While Claude's personal experience is with fibromyalgia, these protocols have helped warriors with chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune conditions, digestive disorders, and other chronic illnesses. The spoon theory integration and energy-conscious design work for any condition that involves fatigue, pain, or limited energy.

Important: Always consult your healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes, especially with complex chronic conditions.

What makes this different from other nutrition programs?

Most nutrition programs are designed for healthy people having occasional "off" days. Our resources are specifically created for people whose baseline is chronic illness, with protocols that work during flares, not just when you're feeling better.

Key differences:

  • Every recipe tested during actual chronic illness episodes
  • Built-in alternatives for varying energy levels
  • Emergency protocols for crisis days
  • Honest about the reality of chronic illness limitations
  • Created by someone who lives with chronic illness daily

About the Mobile App

When will the mobile app be available?

The mobile app is currently in development with beta testing planned for mid-term release. We're building the first chronic illness nutrition app with complete spoon theory integration, emergency protocols, and accessibility features designed specifically for our community's needs.

What features will the app include?

The app will include:

  • All 364+ recipes with spoon ratings and voice instructions
  • Emergency toolkit accessible with one tap during crisis
  • Spoon tracking for energy management
  • Grocery lists optimized for chronic illness limitations
  • Offline access for when brain fog makes reading difficult
  • Integration with Book 1/Book 2 cross-reference system
Will the app cost extra?

Book 3: Frozen Fuel recipes will be free in the app. Additional recipe collections and Academy content will be available through in-app purchases or subscription, with bundle discounts for book series owners.
